【摘要】:ThisTechnicalSpecificationspecifiesamethodformeasuringnoisereductionofpassivehearingprotectorsatthethresholdofhearing.Themethodisdesignedtoprovideestimatesofthenoisereductionobtainedbytypicalgroupsofusersinreal-worldoccupationalsettings,whomaylackthetrainingandmotivationtowearhearingprotectorsinanoptimummanner.Theprincipleofthetestmethodistomeasurethedifferenceinhearingthresholdwithandwithoutwearingahearingprotector.Thisdifferencebetweenthethresholdsconstitutesthenoisereduction.Themeasurementisdonetwiceonagivennumberoftestsubjects.NOTE1TheprincipleofmeasuringtheinfluenceofahearingprotectoronthehearingthresholdisusedinISO4869-1andinthisTechnicalSpecification.ThemethoddescribedinISO4869-1yieldsthesoundattenuationofthehearingprotectorundertest.Theresultofthemeasurementisapurephysicalcharacteristicofthehearingprotector.ThemethoddescribedinthisTechnicalSpecificationyieldstheperformanceofthesystemasawhole,i.e.theinfluenceofhearingprotector,testsubjects,fittingandinstruction.Thistestmethodyieldsdatathatarecollectedatlowsoundpressurelevels(closetothethresholdofhearing),butwhicharealsorepresentativeofthenoisereductionvaluesofhearingprotectorsathighersoundpressurelevels.ThisTechnicalSpecificationisinapplicableforlevel-dependenthearingprotectorsforsoundpressurelevelsabovethepointatwhichtheirlevel-dependentcharacteristicsbecomeeffective.NOTE2Atfrequenciesbelow500Hz,real-earnoisereductiondatameasuredaccordingtothisTechnicalSpecificationmaybespuriouslyhighbyafewdecibels,withtheerrorincreasingasthefrequencydecreases.Theerrorresultsfrommaskingoftheoccluded-earthresholdbyphysiologicalnoiseduringtesting.
